First space hotel to open by 2012‎

A trip to space will always hold its fascination to every sci-fi lover, and it will be a dream come true for those well-heeled folks who are resilient to the crisis. Apparently, a trip to space is still big on the list of the uber-rich, and that’s exactly why the Barcelona-based architects of the Galactic Suite Space Resort, which we have reported on back in 2007, are hopeful of opening their futuristic space resort to the public in 2012. Though looking at the time line from 2007 to 2012, it looks like it will remain a concept even in the future, but if you were to believe the Galactic Suite folks, it will soon become a reality. The company says it is on target to accept its first paying guests in 2012 despite all the question marks on the investment and time frame for this multi-billion-dollar project. Zain’s Nigeria Conflict

By iLSuL6ana, October 13, 2009 10:33 am

KUWAIT, Oct 12 (Reuters) – Kuwait-based telecom firm Zain (ZAIN.KW) is not concerned over a lawsuit by South Africa-based Econet Wireless disputing the ownership of Zain Nigeria, Zain’s chief executive said in remarks published on Monday.

“Saad al-Barrak affirmed that the group is not facing any risk from a legal dispute over Zain Nigeria,” al-Rai newspaper reported. “(This issue ) is old and dates back to before 2006.”

Last week, Econet said it disputed the purchase in 2006 by Celtel, now called Zain, of a majority stake in a group called Vee Networks Limited, now Zain Nigeria.

Barrak said that Econet has lost similar cases that it had filed in British courts over past years, the newspaper reported.

Zain Nigeria has traded under various brands since 2001 due to a series of boardroom conflicts. It has been known as Vee Networks, Vmobile, Celtel and now Zain Nigeria.

Econet — which has operations in nine countries in Africa, Europe and the East Asia Pacific rim — said in a statement it was pursuing arbitration proceedings because it believed it had been denied its right of first refusal over the stake.

It has now appealed to legal authorities including an international tribunal operating under the auspices of the United Nations for the transaction to be unwound. [ID:nL7682873]

Zain, a hot but tricky potential acquisition target for stagnating Western telecoms groups, has invested more than $12 billion in Africa. Nigeria is the group’s biggest market, contributing 21 percent of customers and 17 percent of revenues.

The company has put on hold for now plans to sell its African operations while one of its major shareholders tries to persuade other owners to club together to sell a 46 percent stake, for which it says it already has a buyer.

Kuwait’s Kharafi Group, which owns 11 percent of Zain but is estimated to control about 20 percent in total through other firms, wants to sell 46 percent of Zain to a group of Asian investors — although those investors may press for a larger stake. One of Australia’s richest men, Clive Palmer, has drawn criticism for buying his teenage daughter a yacht worth AU$5.3m.

Child experts say that giving multi-million dollar gifts to teenagers is dangerous because it gives them unrealistic expectations about money.

Psychologist Renee Mill says that whilst it is commonplace for many wealthy parents to give expensive gifts like this, it amounts to irresponsible parenting.

“A lot of the rich and famous spoil their children and they get used to it their whole lives,” she said, in the Courier Mail.

“But if they lose that money, then nine times out of 10 those kids, as adults, have tremendous difficulty getting on their feet and looking after themselves.”

The Horizon 98 foot yacht was built in 2008 and has master and VIP staterooms with ensuites, two double cabins and accommodations for four crew.

Dear friends,
Warnings about the swine flu vaccine never stops, while the flu virus itself is not that dangerous.
I advice you all two things:

1. If you get any common cold or flu symptoms DONT TAKE ANTIBIOTICS at all, if it is (ba3d 2l shar) swine flu it will get really worse and dangerous.

2. Educate yourself about the flu and the virus and decide what to do for yourself.

Here are some articles about the dangers of the vaccine:

Here is a link about the swine flu virus:
In this link you may find advices to take the swine flu vaccine and no any hazards related.
Dont be confused because these are conflict of interest issues between drug companies and awareness organizations.

be

he unfortunate accident took place while the elephant was out walking in the street with its owner in Rayong province, in the east of the country.

The baby had been taken out to work in the street by a mahout – the men who drive the elephants – but must not have been looking where he was going.

Rescuers spent three hours freeing the elephant, who was unharmed, by using a bulldozer to widen the hole.

While elephants are used to move large heavy objects in Thailand, many of the animals in Rayong province are trained to carry tourists on elephant treks through the jungle.

Mahouts also use elephants to beg on the streets of many large Thai cities and baby elephants, with their cute eyes and hairy heads, are among the most sought after.

Baby elephants are often taught tricks to appeal to tourists and, although it is illegal in many cities, work the streets with their owners from early in the morning to late at night.

Mahouts control the elephants using a small number of commands and a sharp hook, known as an angkus.

Last month a 14-year-old female elephant was electrocuted in Rayong when she accidentally brushed against a naked electrical cable.
