Guestwriter “Abdulateef”: Canon G11 or S90?

The other day i got a call from Kiwi Bakery to invite me to the bakery to try out there bakery items. As we are in ramadan and going into the last few days, i was pretty busy. They were kind enough to send me a few of there items to try out!

I was contacted by iLSuL6ana last week asking me if i wanted to review Gelato’s new Ramadan flavors, being a fan of extra calories i jumped to the offer! Well, i guess i gained more then a few extra calories after trying all the Ramadan flavor’s that were delivered the other day.

Me and my whole family gathered around with are spoons wanting to try all kinds and since we didn’t have the names we were guessing the flavors! The flavor which we were all sure of was the “VIMTO” flavored Gelato! I thought Vimto flavored ice cream was so cute!

Each family member had a favorite! But all the flavers were good, and i’m not saying this for the review..not only good but kind of addictive too! We had a little trouble with stopping actually!

The kinds available:
Kanafa, Chocolate Rahash, Rangina, Blossom water, Rose Water, Vimto, Qamardeen
Since its a hot Ramadan i would not hesitate with this for dessert!
Thank you Ms. Dalal for letting us review the Ramadan flavors!
Thank you iLSuL6ana ;*

Gowalla is a service that enables its users to discover places around them in the city they are in (any city, its even available here in the Gulf) and once they are in one of these places around them they can check in and share their check in on Facebook and/or Twitter. For example, lets say you went out to have lunch, then you just open Gowalla’s application, check the places near by you and once you find the place you are in simply check in and that will notify your Gowalla friends right away that you’re having lunch at this place at this exact moment.
Once you check in you can also post a comment, so you can say what your ordered and whether you liked it or not so other people who visits the same place can see that and take you on your recommendation, you can also post a photo of the place or of the food, you can also view a leaderboard to see who is the most user visiting this place or even see who have been here before you and so on. Gowalla gets better and better with more friends, of course just don’t add people you don’t like or they will be annoying you wherever you go.
Make sure you check it out, Gowalla has free applications to be downloaded for iPad, iPhone/iPod touch, Android, Blackberry & Palm. Even if you own a Nokia or any other phone then all you have to do is visit their mobile site and that will enable you to view the nearby places and check in it.

Hello Everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve made review and I’m so glad to have the opportunity to come back and post the newest and the most exciting restaurants review in or outside of Kuwait. Since this is my comeback review, I needed to post something special and totally different so I decided to review a restaurant that many people had seen but didn’t have the chance to try.
Have you ever heard of the “In-n-out” of Saudi Arabia? A few months ago, I went to Mecca with my family. Years and years had passed by and we all enjoyed “Farooj Faqeeh” from Al-6azej but all the fuss over it had gone years ago… so I thought of trying the famously called “Al-Baik” restaurant which specializes in fried chicken… I haven’t got the chance to try it before so I got on a taxi and asked him to take me the nearest Al-Baik restaurant. When I arrived I couldn’t believe my own eyes when I saw this!

First, I would like to thank Electrozan for the opportunity of doing this review of the iPad 3G! Let me tell you something, ever since apple announced the release of the iPad, I wasn’t interested nor excited at all. I just did not see what options the device has that would make me go and buy it!

Since I only had limited time to play with my iPad before returning it, I tried to do as much as I could to try and change my mind about it, sadly I did not, even though I changed my views, I actually LIKED IT, but for me, I don’t see myself buying this unless they add some features.. Now let’s go into more details…

When I first saw pictures of the iPad I thought it would be big, heavy! But I was wrong, it was perfectly sized and the weight is nothing! It is really light and thin, Ok it is not anywhere near a weight of a feather, but it is still weight light considering the size of it! Turning it on was easy, since I own an iPhone, it is just a big version of it. The display is nice and I think it is even brighter and BETTER than the iPhone’s display. The speed of booting is really nice, it starts almost instantly, and seriously I thought it was faster than my iPhone, even the functions! I liked how apple finally made it possible to add a background to the home screen. I couldn’t wait to test browsing, before going on that, I would like to thank VIVA for providing us a MicroSIM which works with the iPad instead of the regular SIM. VIVA is one of the first companies to provide this new technology. The speed was fantastic in my location (Sharq area). Youtube videos load very fast compared to my iPhone AND the video loads in the same webpage instead of opening youtube! Now in some other locations, the speed was horrible but it all depends on which tower you are connected to I guess! Again, I loved this feature about youtube, the browsing was a hell of nice experience with all touch screen functions, no mouse no need to zoom in like in the iphone (for most cases)! I just hated how apple never will be in peace with flash and add that feature so I can enjoy full browsing

Another thing, when apple announced how the iPad’s battery would remain charged for 9 hours with 3G, and 10 hours with WiFi, they really meant it! When I got the iPad it had only 78% of battery life, I used it for few hours over 24 hours period, and the battery dropped to 40% only! My iPhone’s battery usually dies after 6 – 8 hours of a full charge without even using it most of the time, just to give you how I am really impressed with the battery!

Since I have a US account with apple, I was able to go in the App store for the iPad and I tried some free apps and games. I admit there is still some missing stuff, but if you loved the games of the iPhone, you will fall in love even more with the iPad!
Unfortunately, there is still no Kuwaiti app store yet, I’m sure there will be one very soon.

Now, the fun part is jailbreak is available to the iPad! As you can see in the pictures, Cydia is installed! And almost every iPhone application is compatible with it! You might face some problems with the size as it will show the size of an iPhone size in the big iPad screen, but again, if you play with it and select some themes from winterboard, you can adjust that and fix it.

One more thing we noticed about Youtube that if you are connected to a 3G connection, it selects a low resolution version of the video you are playing, where if you are connected to a wireless network, it will select the HD version!

I noticed that there is still no Arabic keyboard and only few languages available. Also the sound or speakers are moody or something. In Youtube the sound is low you can barely hear it, where if you play a video from the iTunes store the sound is perfect and loud.
Another annoying this about it is the screen gets so many fingerprints as you can see! Well I think if there is a screen protector it will help a lot!

Now lets sum some of the Pros and Cons.
Pros:
- Battery.
- Flexibility of the screen is fast and accurate in a timely manner to all angles.
- Keyboard is big and easy.
- Big screen.
- Light weight and size.
- A Lock switch to stop rotating the screen if it annoys you!
Cons:
- Fingerprints on the screen!
- Sound low sometimes and the speakers are only in one side.
- Youtube videos and the randomness of selecting the resolution in 3G and Wireless.
- No USB port, No Flash browsing.
- No Multi-tasking but I guess they are adding that in the next update.
- No DVD-Rom drive. Not even as external one, yet.
Final thoughts: Why not buy an iPad? It’s not a laptop or a notebook replaceable… should we call it identity crisis for the iPad? .. It doesn’t know what it wants to be .. The only way I would buy an iPad is if I have extra money to shell out.
As you all know, iPad 3G is now available at Electrozan Al Salmiya, Starting from 299KD.

In the end I would like to thank Electrozan, especially Mr. Fawaz Al Wazzan, and VIVA for providing us the MicroSIM. Last but not least, my friends Q80 In Denver and S. Aljuhairy for their efforts into putting this review up for you!

Taw9eel.com was kind enough to send ilsul6ana.com with this small gift! It came at the right time!
Summer is coming and we all need a little color! Carrot is the famous sun oil that everyone loves using here! But most of us are used to using the orginal Carrot with the carrot extract! Taw9eel did make it easier for us by bringing it to Kuwait!
I was sent a new Carrot type i never tried before, Tropical Fruits, Looks good to me! When i try it i will make sure to tell you what i think!

Thank you iLSultana too!
What is a Micro Sim?

Answer: Its the gold part of your regular sim.

BUT “they say” its funtionality is alot more:
Micro SIM (also known as a 3FF SIM) is a diminutive 12 x 15mm, about 52% smaller.
This card was developed by the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) to offer things like more storage space on-chip for provider applications, increased control and security functions, and the new smaller form factor allows it to fit in tiny devices..and the iPad :/
Why people want the Micro Sim?
iPad 3G ? maybe iPhone 4G?
That was a little intoduction because alot of people don’t know what a micro sim is.
Now
Who do you think will be the first to add the micro sim to its telecom company?
VIVA: We know your working hard on getting it done soon with special “i” offers..
ZAIN: Always is the first with the “new” introductions in Kuwait..but wouldn’t they have launched it in ZAIN city?
Wataniya: They might just suprise us! No one knows..
So what do you guys think?

Last Thursday morning I was invited to visit Cleo salon by Miya (one of the owners) , but I’m not Zabo0o6a if I wasn’t fashionably late..
