The 2nd Red Bull Flugtag in Kuwait will take place on November 5, 2010 at the Marina Crescent. The first Red Bull Flugtag in Kuwait took place in 2007 with the participation of 28 teams.

The first ever Red Bull Flugtag was held in 1992 in Vienna, Austria, and since then more than 90 Red Bull Flugtags took off across the world.

46 Teams have been chosen for the construction phase.

The other day i got a call from Kiwi Bakery to invite me to the bakery to try out there bakery items. As we are in ramadan and going into the last few days, i was pretty busy. They were kind enough to send me a few of there items to try out!

The box was huge i didn’t expect it to be this big! It was divided into 8 rows filled with saj rolls, fatyer, small sandwiches & mini sweets!

On both sides there were dips. The presentation was very nice, its a great idea to take  with you to a “yam3a’  or work.

As for the taste, i only tasted a couple of pieces: saj roll which was full of taste and not bad at all, the fatayer were OK (maybe because i waited to long before tasting it), the sweet i tasted was a mini piece that i think was pumpkin cake which tasted yummy. Overall, everyone did enjoy the neq9a

Today we had an opportunity to visit one of the newest places that are recently introduced to the restaurants scene in Kuwait. Actually the place is not new as it was a café but now turned into a restaurant! Organica Fish and Chips located in Mangaf is the first authentic Australian-style fish and chips or as the owner would say “the way it should be!”

The locations of the restaurant is very convenient located a kilo or less from Hilton Mangaf, it could be easily found if you just drive and the Hilton is on your left you go straight and you should find it on your right.

 As soon as we got in, we were welcomed by the kindly owner and the staff of the place, and let me tell you the place is kind of small but they got huge staff in the kitchen! Hopefully this is for the best interest of the customers as they were well organized and made it faster for entrees to get out of the kitchen!

When we got our menu it was simple to order as clearly as you can see it, it is a fish and chips place. We ordered a Salad for appetizers. We also ordered Palm Beach basket which consists of fried fish as well as fried prawns, a skewer of vegetables, some calamari and of course chips! We also customized our order so we could get a potato scallop so we could try everything in the menu. Some sauces come with the basket that includes: home made tartar sauce, honey soya, and ketchup.

First we got our salad, which there was nothing special about it, just a regular home made salad. And then we got into business as we got our basket

We tried to try everything in the basket one by one:

- The potato scallop was great, it tasted nice and delicious.

- The fish was as we think softer than it should be at least to us. The bread crumbs ingredient was not holding together with the fish. Moreover, when you start eating it with a fork it just gets separated and we ended up eating the fish separately. Maybe some people prefer it that way?

- The prawns in the other hands were way harder and we struggled to take it out of the stick it came on!.

- The calamari was the star of the night. It was perfectly cooked and well made. We all enjoyed it. 

- The chips was just chips but it is worth noting that it is freshly cut. It tasted like a home made which was the good thing about it.

The presentation of the dishes was simple enough and some of us suggested that it could be more organized and make it more appetite-able. The owner explained to us how they try to engage organic ingredients in their dishes as much as possible even though the food is fried!

We also got some fresh lemonade which was really delicious! And last but not least we got a treat which consisted of deeply fried mars bars! It was something new to try and we all loved it and that was the way it should be to end our meal!

 The owner said that they are opening a second branch in Jabriya to make it more convenient for customers driving from inner cities. The café in Jabriya is already open but they are transferring it to half café and half restaurant. Also they will start delivering after Ramadan.

 As you see in the menu pictures, the prices are not really cheap. I can understand that as they use organic materials which are pricey and for customers they would end up paying a 5 – 7 KD range for their dishes per person which we think is a little above the budget considering the restaurant is a small and like a gathering place. And yes they will welcome even if you got out of the sea with a wet towel!

 Organica Fish and Chips is open during Ramadan from 6 pm to 2 pm, and then after Ramadan normal hours will be from 11 am to 11 pm.

Finally, we would like to thank Ms. Catherine for inviting us and giving us the opportunity for trying out their food! We wish them goodluck!

I got really excited when Ilsul6ana asked me to review “Flex Fitness” gym as a guest writer, On Sunday 10 am I was greeted by the lovely receptionist who went ahead and introduced me to the staff members including beauty  division manager, personal trainers and spa manager..

My tour started with giving me a brief description about the different kinds of facilities available at the gym and the variety of membership packages according to each customer own choice.
Memberships were listed as the following:
-One day visit 15 kd
- One month  150 kd
-Three monthes 320 kd
- 6 monthes 450 kd
- 1 year 575 kd
And each package allow the member to freeze the account within the duration of 7 to 90 days according to each package condition.
Not to forget mentioning the different services that are available to all members as a part of the package :

- Two swimming pools.
- aqua aerobics
- swimminng lessons
- sauna, jacuzzi
- spinning studio
- aerobic classes in three studio’s
- yoga, stretching, arabic dance studio’s

And the most important step to take before starting any kind of activity is the Face 2 Face program, which starts with Apraisal proccess for each new member, As I experienced this proccces personally included taking my measurements as for height and weight along with the percentage of fat, muscles and water in my body.

Upon the results they suggested the kind of diet that I should follow after I discovered that I have 3 kilo’s of retained water in me :/
and recommendations from instructor of the kind of classes I shud follow to get in shape.
 
After the appraisal session I was served with a complimentary healthy breakfast from Health Stop , so I opted for a slim turkey wrap which was quite fulfilling.

after the breakfasts we continued our journey around the building, I checked the dancing studios as they provide 6 kinds of latin dance and two types of belly dancing.
Studio’s for yoga and pilates which they have 6 classes for including a class for pregnant women .
 

The swimming pools were quite spacious as they provided aqua classes according to different timings to provide each member with a full advantage of this faciliity,when I passed by the pool a very active session had taken course over there If I had my swimming gear on I might have taken a dip to relieve my swollen ankle but unfortanetly I couldn’t. 
 
Then there was the spinning class studio, as the hostess mentioned it’s one of the most popular class among the others and how are members requesting that the class continue during the month of Ramadhan,
 
And not to forget that their holding their own “Biggest Loser” Competition among their members in the light of encouraging them to loose weight and stay healthy.
 

 
Before the tour ended at Flex fitness I was Guided into the Spa & Saloon which is an inside division of the gym itself providing members with beauty services to get pampered after a fruitfull work out, unfortunetly the SPA is under maintenance for renovation reasons at the time being but instead I was giving the chance to try a Manicure or a Pedicure so I went with getting my hands pampered.

I was served by Marlyn who did a professional job tending my weak nails and treating my sensetive cuticule, using Dashing Diva nail products all the way.
I loved the result that I must be going back to ask about the cuticle treatment that she did and  after that I got my hair blowdried which I think was quite nice cuz my hair is kinda long and slighlty layered so the hairdresser managed to blowdry it while giving it a healthy volume without using any kind of chemicals.
 

 
The second part of the tour was paying a visit to Flex executive next door, As I was greeted by the business developemt manager Mr.Samuel ghali as he described this branch of Flex being directed to Business Men who use this facility to unwind away from work pressure.

It’s a five storey building for men lays Horizontacly and Vertically to serve all kind of services that one can imagine and this type of design applies to both of the buildings.
the Basement level has a conference room equipped with Data show projector and access to wifi.

the ground floor which  includes the reception area , Health Stop branch, a poolroom and a swimming pool.

the other floors are divided between relaxing and revilitizing rooms provided with water beds and jaccussi’s which aims to giving a soothing massage to the whole body , what impressed me the most is the scented showers as the water was infused with lavender and rose water.
In addition to a whole section dedicated to men grooming; hair, skin and nails .
 

 
Two squash courts to hold occasional matches between teams, along with a whole floor for body building but in the right way without depending on harmful drugs or needles , along with treadmills and the usual excercise equipments that was chosen carefully to ensure the member a full advantage of the excercise.

 
On the last floor their lies a spacious lounge outlooking the sea, provided with a mini bar and a flat screen which Mr.Ghaly noted  that it was a huge gahtering point during the world cup to come and watch the game.

Furthermore, we chillaxed in the lounge as Mr.Ghaly mentionded that they’re in the proccess of building the largest women gym in Kuwait in Mahboula city real soon and aiming toward Qatar and Bahrain as a future plan.
 
The tour came to an end, luckily before I endorse more into daydreaming of living in Flex executive, however the generous staff of Flex did’t let me leave empty handed .
I was given a care package of Flex Gourmet food to devour with my hubby afterwards , quite yummy I may say !

 
“Flex” I can’t thank you enough , you literally went high above my expectations and your generousity left me speechless!

I was contacted by iLSuL6ana last week asking me if i wanted to review Gelato’s new Ramadan flavors, being a fan of extra calories i jumped to the offer! Well, i guess i gained more then a few extra calories after trying all the Ramadan flavor’s that were delivered the other day.

Me and my whole family gathered around with are spoons wanting to try all kinds and since we didn’t have the names we were guessing the flavors! The flavor which we were all sure of was the “VIMTO” flavored Gelato! I thought Vimto flavored ice cream was so cute!

Each family member had a favorite! But all the flavers were good, and i’m not saying this for the review..not only good but kind of addictive too! We had a little trouble with stopping actually!

The kinds available:

Kanafa, Chocolate Rahash, Rangina, Blossom water, Rose Water, Vimto, Qamardeen

Since its a hot Ramadan i would not hesitate with this for dessert!
