The Kuwaiti Cultural Club of the American University of Sharjah has been an active cultural club since AUS has been established. It plays a big role in representing of all the Kuwaiti students body in the UAE. Every year the AUS holds the Global Day Event in which different pavilions are made to represent a country and its cultural and traditional values. Its a place where all the Kuwaiti Community in the UAE come, get together to show off the values and traditions of Kuwait. Hundreds of Kuwaiti students attend every year in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Consulate and the ambassador.
The Kuwaiti Pavilion this year was designed by a Kuwaiti Architecture student, Rawan Al Ghanim, in which she represented the most iconic building in Kuwait, The Kuwaiti Water Towers (Abraj Likwait). Initially, the design was supposed to be a geodesic dome with the use of recycled bottles as a recycled material and the skyline of Kuwait shown in the back. However, because of time constraints, the water bottles has been replaced with another material such as lighting and acrylic.
