Question: Do You Tip Your Hairstylist?
A reader sent me this interesting question:
Do you tip your hairstylist? Does it depend on which Salon it is, the nationality of the stylist? Does it depend on how much you got your haircut or colored? For example, i do full highlights & haircut for 100 KD or more sometimes. Should i tip if the stylist is already taking that much money from me?

walla i always do tip them 3arabia or not, after she finish her work coz yemken maya3gebny sheghelha or mo3amalat’ha , so it would be much better if u tip them after their work

I usually tip 10% to 20 %, that what I do in restaurants as well, and I think it is fair

I tip them if I’m comming back to the salon, but if It is a new salon I’m trying and I didn’t like thier work and decided not to come again, walla amshi 3anhom wa5alli wayhom fahi! ;p

I usually tip my hairstylists/salonists. A KD for every blow dry or manicure/pedicure and I also tip the woman that washes my hair another KD. I don’t tip if I feel I’m being ripped off with the price or don’t have cash on me or waited for longer than 15 minutes although I had an appointment. I believe it’s fair? And yes I agree it’s a lot easier to tip Asians than Arabs because for some reason Arabs give you the vibe that “I don’t want your tip, unless its KD 5+”
You get better treatment if you’re a regular customer – they won’t burn ur roots or do ur nails in a rush mathalan. Plus tips etfare7 il3amel (hair washer, cleaner, manicurist) while you can skip tipping the master since she/he get paid more than anyone else.
Yeah I do tip, but not everytime I go, cuz sometimes I am in the salon once or twice a week.
But since I don’t pay as much as you do since I don’t dye my hair, I dont know how much you would give. But seriously I think even 2-3 KD ebayin eb 3ainhum eb9ara7a. It shows a little appreciation.

If your able to pay 100 kd then why not add a 5 or 10Kd as a tip for your stylist.
