StoneGrill is a new restaurant opened just a month ago offering a new dining experience in Kuwait. Basically you pick your meat from the menu and you grill it on your table! You get a really heated volcanic stone which is REALLLY HOT as it is 400 degrees CELSIUS to grill your food!

Q80 In Denver:  Awel ma we9alna we got a warm welcome from the manager. We got seated and we were hungry as hell  :p I tried the experience before in Dubai in a restaurant called “St.Maxim” so I was very anticipating the moment where I see the difference between both restaurants. So we opened the menu and got right into it .. So I had “Cuttle Fish” AKA Calamari for my starter :p

Environmental: and I had “Pollo Chicken sesame” for mine. And as for the main course they had a very limited choices of meats .. you only have the choice of Rib eye or beef tenderloin for the meat .. Chicken or marinated chicken for poultry and Shrimp for the seafood section

Q80 In Denver:  there is a good thing and a bad thing .. the good thing is that you can mix between meat and chicken or meat and shrimps .. but the bad thing is that you are stuck with beef tenderloin only .. and to be honest the menu only said “Beef” oo ga6oona 3ala sakhar :p so what kind of beef is that? :p

Environmental: So we asked the waitress and she wasn’t sure! Came the manager and he said that it is only beef tenderloin with the mixing of meat and chicken. So we had one order of Rib eye and one mix order of Beef tenderloin and Marinated chicken As we wanted to test as much as we could. As for the side dishes we chose home made mashed potatoes and French fries.

Q80 In Denver: got our appetizers .. I firstly jumped into the chicken and it was nice but nothing special .. I loved the sauce that came with it! Sweet tangy honey mustard sauce J as for the cuttle fish .. it looks frozen, it feels frozen and it lacks flavor unfortunately :/

Environmental: I felt that the chicken had oil taste in it, but it wasn’t that bad.. I actually liked it and LOVED the sauce! I agree with Q80 In Denver for the cuttle fish, lacks flavor I can live without it

Q80 in Denver: I started to get worried .. we got our main course at the right time .. and we started grilling..

Environmental: Yep, I also tend to think if the start is bad, then allah yaster men el yay! We got our STONES and you could feeeeeel the heat! We got our  vests from our waitress that helps keep the heat out of you I guess :p and then we got our main dishes! We got the Rib eye, and my tenderloin and the chicken, and we started grilling right away! I thought I would wait for a long time till my food is ready, but Q80 In Denver told me It’s only a matter of few minutes! And he was right! My meat was grilling fast! Mo emla7eg agleb hal ge63a wela hatheech! Heheheh.

Q80 In Denver: I got the first bite of the Rib eye and … its REALLY GOOD! J tender .. fresh .. and it melts in your mouth .. a BIG plus for me! J

Environmental: The manager offered his services to help in grilling the food and asked us if we had any questions so far, but we refused his help we wanted to have as much as possible of this experience. I had fun grilling both the chicken and beef. I tried the tenderloin.. I Loved it! I also liked the chicken but unfortunately it didn’t really taste like it was marinated enough I thought they should provide us some sauce or something that we could add to the chicken while grilling so that it can get more tasty!

Q80 In Denver: let me tell you something about the side dishes .. the mashed potatoes is so YUMMY! On other hand the French fries needs a lot of adjustments and preferably if its freshly cut

Environmental:  Nothing more to say than we both LOVED the mashed potatoes!

Q80 In Denver: my overall experience.. we were there to try the stone grilling experience .. and it was a successful positive experience J Definitely going back for the meats ;p

Environmental: You’re not going without me!!!!

We both liked the atmosphere and location AND view of StoneGrill! We had some talk with the manager afterwards, we gave some suggestions, we listened to his responses. I loved the treatment of customers, I noticed that the manager go to each table and ask them about their experience, I know he was not doing that because we were there

Oh and we saw Dawood Hussein dining in there too

We were told that the restaurant took almost 10 months to open so that it can be fully READY to welcome in customers and give them the best possible dining experience they could offer. That is a long time and I think it was worth the wait

I will definitely be a regular customer, I wish them the best!

StoneGrill is located in Mezzanine 2 of Omniya Mall which is the same building for Ibis Hotel in Salmiya. Their current website http://stonegrillkuwait.com/ is up and but it is still under construction.
