واحد بعين قويه

كل شبر بهالوسيعـه ملـك ربـي تعلميـن

كان في شاب يحب بنت و هي تحبه ومتفقين على الخطوبة والزواج

لكن من حظه الجميل انه دخل الجيش

وكان كل يوم يقعد يفكر فيها قبل ما ينام

ويتذكر ايامهم مع بعض،عمره ما نساها لحظة

وفي يوم جاه رسالة من البنت اللي بيخطبها

وركض بسرعة علشان يقراها

وهو بيموت علشان يعرف اللي فيها

وفتح الرسالة لقاها بسلامتها

Kuwait starts to pay benefits to laid-off workers

Kuwait will on Sunday begin distributing unemployment benefits among recently laid-off private sector workers, it has been announced.

The initiative’s acting chief Fawzy al-Mejdeli said to get money, axed workers should first fulfill “all relevant requirements”.

Several Kuwaiti private companies had axed Kuwaiti nationals amid the negative ramifications of the global financial crisis.

In an earlier cabinet decree, the first payment stage will include 80 sacked workers, who will get benefits of about 60 percent of their salary, along with KD220 in monthly allowances, he added.

All the laid-off workers are to receive their money ahead of Eid al-Fitr (Lesser Bairam), he said, adding that the payment process would take place every month for a full year.

Earlier this month, the council of ministers agreed that Kuwaitis who have lost their jobs since August last year will receive benefits for a maximum of a year, or until they find a new job.

It will be the first time Kuwait has paid out such unemployment benefit.

There are no official figures for how many Kuwaitis have been declared redundant because of the global economic crisis, but some unofficial estimates put the number at around 4,000.

Kuwaitis make up just four percent of the 1.71 million workers in the private sector, with the rest employed by the government and being paid handsome salaries.

Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei Sultan of Brunei, dropped more than $24,000 on his most recent trim, the Times Online reports.

For one of the world’s richest men it is a snip, but at $24,000 it must be the most expensive haircut ever.

Worried about catching Swine Flu, the Sultan made sure that his barber didn’t mix with other passengers on the plane and hence paid £11,000 ($18,000) for a private luxury cabin for his barber.

Modestou runs a barber’s at the Dorchester hotel in Mayfair, central London, and usually charges £30 for a trim.

But the 63-year-old Sultan – one of the richest men in the world – pays the barber thousands every time he makes the 7,000 mile round trip to Brunei.

George Kadi, who works with Modestou at the Dorchester, told a client yesterday: “Ken has been cutting the hair of the sultan for 16 years.

“He goes regularly, sometimes every three or four weeks. The sultan flies him first-class at a cost of about £9,000.

Everything is paid for, hotel, luxury food. It’s a case of ‘just keep signing, that’s all’.”

Kadi said that the Sultan – whose fortune is estimated at £12billion pays Modestou with a “thick envelope” full of cash.
